An arborist tree inspection involves a systematic evaluation of the tree from root flare to canopy tip. Our TRAQ-qualified arborists examine root zone conditions, trunk integrity, branch structure, canopy density, signs of pest activity, and evidence of mechanical or environmental damage. The result is a written report outlining observed conditions, any identified risks, and specific recommendations for treatment, pruning, support, or removal. These reports are accepted by insurers, municipalities, and real estate professionals.

Most tree species benefit most from pruning during late dormancy in late winter, before new growth begins. This timing minimizes exposure of pruning wounds to insects and fungal spores. However, deadwood removal and safety pruning can and should be performed whenever a hazard is identified, regardless of season. Flowering trees such as ornamental cherries and magnolias should be pruned shortly after flowering to avoid removing next year's flower buds. Our arborists advise on optimal timing for each species present on your property.

Yes, this is one of our most common project types in Albany, CA. Trees growing close to structures require a sectional removal approach where the tree is taken down in controlled sections using rigging to direct wood away from the building. We use handlines, natural and synthetic rigging, and in larger cases, cranes to remove wood without allowing it to fall freely. Our crews are experienced in tight-access urban and suburban scenarios and use ground protection mats to minimize lawn damage.

Tree cabling involves installing high-strength cables between major scaffold branches to redistribute the mechanical load during wind events, reducing the risk that a structurally weak union will fail. Bracing rods are installed through the trunk or primary crotch when there is splitting or included bark. Both systems are supplemental supports. They do not repair a structural defect but they significantly reduce the probability of failure. Our systems comply with current ANSI A300 Part 3 guidelines. Cables require periodic inspection and replacement every few years.
